RightTrack was a social initiative that I started in DATE to help vulnerable labour communities overcome barriers to access their government benefits, welfare programs, rights, and health facilities in Mumbai. This social intervention was created to tackle challenges faced by these marginalized communities in accessing government systems due to complexities in bureaucracy, instability in finances, and lack of institutional awareness.
Under this social initiative, I organized a legal and civic awareness program conducted by NAME, a renowned legal expert, about the social, economic, and political rights of daily wage laborers and migrant workers. Furthermore, to augment this effort and reach people more effectively, I started RightView Explainers where I created a video-based program on YouTube explaining important details about various government schemes and documentation processes.
Next, RightDocs Check-list was one such resource that I developed which included all the eligibility requirements, required documents, processes for acquiring, and application processes of necessary government schemes like welfare schemes, food security, Aadhar cards, PAN cards, bank accounts, and UPI integration. This check list helped people in understanding these processes easily.
Additionally, I also undertook fundraising and relief programs under The RightSide Collection Drive and RightTrack Distribution Drive wherein funds collected were used to distribute meals and glucose packs to food-insecure laborers on construction sites. Moreover, to help these individuals in finding jobs and getting enrolled into welfare schemes and accessing medical services and preventive advice, I organized the RightCheck Enrollment Camp.
Overall, through this social intervention, my goal was to make food security, welfare, legal awareness, and basic healthcare provisions available to marginalized communities of daily wage laborers and migrants in Mumbai.
